Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has severed its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory company had a long-standing relationship with the streamer, including a collaborative headset.
The allegations, made by former Twitch employee Cody Conners, claim Dr Disrespect engaged in inappropriate conduct involving a minor via Twitch's Whispers feature. These claims, while vehemently denied by Dr Disrespect, have prompted several partners to re-evaluate their relationships.
Turtle Beach confirmed to IGN the termination of its partnership, ending a multi-year deal signed in 2020 to sponsor its ROCCAT brand. The company's website has already removed Dr Disrespect's branded merchandise.
This isn't Dr Disrespect's only recent setback. Midnight Society, the game studio he co-founded, also ended its association with him following the surfacing of these allegations. Midnight Society stated they initially believed in his innocence but ultimately decided to part ways.
Dr Disrespect continues to deny any wrongdoing, asserting the matter was resolved with Twitch in 2020. He has also announced a break from streaming, potentially extending an already planned vacation in light of the current situation. The duration of his absence and his future plans remain unclear.
