Sony Releases PS5 and PS4 Updates: Key Features Revealed

Authore: PatrickUpdate:May 02,2025

Sony has rolled out fresh updates for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, enhancing the gaming experience across both consoles.

The PS5's latest update, version 25.02-11.00.00, is a compact 1.3GB download that brings significant improvements. One of the key enhancements is to the activities feature, where activity details are now fully displayed on cards, ensuring you get all the information you need at a glance. Importantly, potential spoilers remain hidden, keeping your gaming experience fresh and unspoiled.

Communication gets a fun boost with the addition of Unicode 16.0 emojis, now supported in messages. This update also introduces changes to parental controls. If you set the restriction level to Late Teens or Older, Communication and User-Generated Content will default to Restrict. However, if you've previously set this level, your settings will remain as Customize without changes.

As always, Sony has worked on the nuts and bolts of the system, improving software performance and stability. Additionally, there are enhancements to messages and usability on certain screens, making navigation smoother and more intuitive.
