SEGA Stars Join Sonic Rumble in Historic Crossover Event!

Sonic Rumble, the much-anticipated mobile game, hasn't even reached its global launch yet, but it's already making waves with its inaugural crossover event dubbed "Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars." This exciting event is live now and will run until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide launch scheduled for May 8th.

Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is available in over 40 countries. It underwent two pre-launch phases last year; the first in the summer of 2024, targeting regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, and the second expanding to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

What's in Store?

For players in the regions where Sonic Rumble has been soft-launched, the SEGA Stars crossover offers a thrilling dive into SEGA's iconic universe. Kicking off the festivities, the Altered Beast crew returns, offering the Werewolf transformation for free. Nostalgia fans can also unlock the Werebear and Weredragon, though with different purchasing options. The Weredragon is exclusive to the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be acquired with regular rings.

Adding a touch of Fantasy Zone to the mix, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, and Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments purchasable with standard rings at 700 rings each.

The crossover also features AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a sneak peek at the event, check out the video below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

Players can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. While it might seem unusual for the event to be active before the global release, SEGA has confirmed that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again post-launch.

The first crossover event of Sonic Rumble celebrates SEGA's rich gaming heritage, bringing together characters like monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed warriors to interact with Sonic and his friends. This blend of nostalgia and innovation adds to the excitement surrounding Sonic Rumble's upcoming release.
