Preorder GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 Gaming PCs Now

Authore: DavidUpdate:Apr 16,2025

The first wave of 2025 prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with the cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards is now available for purchase. You can find these innovative systems listed at top retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Adorama, and B&H Photo, starting today. If you're eager to upgrade your gaming setup with one of these latest generation GPUs, now is your prime opportunity before major OEMs like Dell (Alienware), HP (Omen), and Lenovo (Legion) roll out their versions later in the first quarter.

For those interested in standalone GPUs rather than prebuilt systems, please refer to our comprehensive RTX 5090 and 5080 preorder guide to find out which retailers will have them in stock. Be prepared, though; launch-day GPU stock often sells out within hours or even minutes due to high demand and inventory constraints. Retailers have issued warnings about potential shortages, exacerbated by bots that scoop up GPUs to resell at inflated prices.

Dell has launched its new Alienware Area-51 lineup of gaming PCs today, available in two configurations featuring the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K paired with the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, starting at $4,449.99. Keep in mind, though, that due to high demand, Dell estimates delivery by April 22.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a similar design to the 2024 R16 model but includes minor aesthetic and cooling enhancements, along with updated components. The I/O panel is now positioned at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window extends across the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that helps keep the interior less dusty. Internally, the system has been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest generation of CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

Boutique PC Retailers with Built-to-Order RTX 50XX Systems

Some retailers are offering the flexibility to include RTX 5090 and/or 5080 GPUs in custom-built systems. New RTX 50-series GPU options are available at iBuyPower, Origin PC, Maingear, Starforge Systems, NZXT, and Digital Storm. While these systems provide immediate access to the latest GPUs, be aware that custom builds can be more expensive and may not offer the best value for money.

Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo Prebuilt PCs Coming Later

The major OEMs—Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo—will introduce their prebuilt gaming desktops with the new RTX 50-series GPUs later in the year. Dell showcased its Alienware Area 51 gaming PC at CES 2025, anticipated to launch in Q1. HP plans to equip its flagship Omen 45L with the RTX 5090 and 5080, possibly in mid or late February. Lenovo has not yet announced when it will incorporate the new GPUs into its Legion Tower gaming desktops, leaving the launch date uncertain.

Our RTX 5090 FE and 5080 FE Reviews Are Live

The Nvidia 50-series GPUs were officially announced at CES 2025, with a focus on enhanced AI features over traditional raster performance. The new DLSS 4 technology claims to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual compromise. While these GPUs offer a modest performance increase, opinions vary on their value compared to the previous RTX 40-series.

In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE review, Jackie Thomas stated, "The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, but with less force than previous generations. For traditional non-AI gaming, the RTX 5090 provides one of the smallest generational uplifts in recent memory. However, in games that support it, DLSS 4 delivers significant performance gains, with 75% of the frames generated by AI."

Play

In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie noted, "If you already own a high-end graphics card from recent years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not justify an upgrade—it doesn't significantly outperform the RTX 4080. However, the additional frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation enhance gameplay in supported titles. For those with older GPUs seeking a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers, especially if you're open to Nvidia's AI enhancements."
