"Polytopia Introduces Weekly Challenges Mode"

The Battle of Polytopia has just spiced things up with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering a fresh way to test your skills in this beloved 4X strategy game. If you're eager to dive into the details, keep reading.

It Was Random Before

You're no stranger to the randomness that defines The Battle of Polytopia, with its unpredictable enemies, resources, and maps. But now, the game is introducing a more structured competitive element with a free update.

Starting this week, every player will tackle the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions. The challenge? You have 20 turns to achieve the highest score possible. You can attempt it once per day, giving you a maximum of seven tries each week.

One exciting aspect of this feature is the opportunity to play as tribes you might not own yet. The game boasts 16 tribes in total—four come with the base game, while the other twelve can be purchased for $1-4 each. However, in The Battle of Polytopia Weekly Challenges, everyone competes as the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?

I certainly hope so! The new mode also introduces a League system to keep the competition fierce. Everyone starts in the Entry League, and your performance each week will determine whether you move up or down. The top third of players advance to the next league, the bottom third are relegated, and the middle group stays put.

As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty scales up. In the Entry League, you'll face Easy AI, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be up against Crazy difficulty bots. And don't worry, if you skip a week, you won't be demoted, though your ranking will adjust based on the performance of other players.
