Known for his diverse content ranging from product reviews to vlogs and challenges, Hajimesyacho announced on January 19, 2025, that he had reached this milestone by purchasing the maximum amount of Poke Gold available each day since the game's launch on October 30, 2024.
To provide some context, the daily limit for Poké Gold purchases is 720, requiring an expenditure of approximately $100 per day. With the game having been live for 85 days, Hajimesyacho has spent an estimated $8,500 to date. This figure does not account for any sales events during the global launch and holiday season, underscoring his dedication to collecting every card from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as time-exclusive promo cards.
The latest card released was a Trainer card named Pokedex, which allows players to view the top three cards of their deck. This card was awarded to players in celebration of reaching 40 billion cards collected worldwide in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
McDonald’s X Pokemon Happy Meals Collab
On January 21, 2025, the Pokémon Company announced a thrilling collaboration with McDonald's, offering fans exclusive Pokémon-themed Happy Meal boxes. These boxes contain collectible physical cards and items from the Pokémon TCG Pocket series.
From this collaboration, customers can randomly obtain 15 physical cards, including popular Pokémon like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, Rayquaza, and others. Seven of these cards are "holo" or "foil" cards, distinguished by their glossy and reflective finish. Additionally, TCG Pocket players can redeem 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, which can be used to open booster packs and select a single card from Wonder Pick.
The collaboration features four variants of Pokémon Happy Meal boxes, showcasing popular dragon-type Pokémon such as Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite with Pikachu. These exclusive items are available at participating McDonald's stores until supplies last. TCG Pocket’s rewards from this collaboration are valid until March 31, 2025, so be sure to redeem them before they expire.
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Trade Feature
On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket shared more details about its upcoming trade feature via Twitter (X). Trades can only be conducted between friends, and the cards must be of the same rarity. Cards ranging from 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity are eligible for trade, while rarer cards like Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares are excluded. An item must be consumed to facilitate the trade, similar to how Stardust is used in Pokémon GO.
Currently, certain cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are available for trade. The TCG Pocket team has assured fans that they will expand the card selection in the future, stating, "We’ll continue to monitor player feedback and assess future updates to the trade feature while keeping in mind how to balance both the ease and enjoyability of collecting."
In the same Twitter (X) post, the team teased the release of a new booster pack in January, although the exact date remains undisclosed.
