Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts have shifted their focus from the console itself to the size of its physical game cases following an apparent leak from a retailer. As reported by Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima discovered a listing for a Take-Two Interactive Nintendo Switch 2 game on French retailer Fnac, which included dimensions for the game box. If these dimensions are accurate, the Nintendo Switch 2 game cases will be slightly larger than those of the original Switch.
A Reddit user, HertzBurst, further illustrated this by creating a side-by-side comparison of the two game box sizes. According to the retailer's listing, the new game boxes measure approximately 5.1 inches by 7.7 inches (13 centimeters by 19.5 centimeters). This size places them slightly larger than the current Nintendo Switch game cases but still much smaller than the standard cases used for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games. While these changes are not yet officially confirmed, it's plausible that retailers would need this information early to prepare their stock displays.

The release of the Nintendo Switch 2 seems imminent, with speculation pointing to a launch window between June and September. This speculation is fueled by upcoming hands-on events scheduled until June and statements from Greedfall 2 publisher Nacon, suggesting the console will be available before September.
Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 earlier in January with a brief trailer that confirmed backward compatibility and the addition of a second USB-C port. However, many details, including information about other games and the function of a mysterious new button on the Joy-Con, remain undisclosed. While the Joy-Con mouse theory has gained some attention, much about the new console remains a mystery.
