LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

LEGO has announced the launch of nine exciting new Star Wars sets, all set to hit the shelves on May 1, 2025. This release aligns with Disney's comprehensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which traditionally sees LEGO unveiling a new Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) starship. In previous years, fans were treated to Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024.

This year, the spotlight shines on Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known among Star Wars aficionados as Slave I. LEGO has rebranded this starship following a directive from Disney in 2021, opting to remove the term 'slave' from its name to align with modern sensitivities. This change has been confirmed by LEGO and appears to be a permanent adjustment to the nomenclature.

The last significant release of this LEGO starship was in 2019, celebrating the 20th anniversary with a 1007-piece set inspired by its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The newly announced version, however, takes a leap forward with 2970 pieces, portraying the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This model is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, boasting dimensions of 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
