LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film where the skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 at the LEGO Store for LEGO Insiders (you can sign up for free here) and March 15 for all other customers.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
**Release Date**: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
**Price**: $249.99
**Pieces**: 3,145
**Ages**: 18+
**Dimensions**: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is crafted for adults aged 18 and above, focusing on display rather than play. It may incorporate advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders. Photos alone may not fully convey the scale of this model, but the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler help illustrate its grandeur. The T-rex skeleton's skull design mirrors that of the LEGO T-rex skull currently available, which my son assembled and found visually striking. However, the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of the new set.

The dinosaur's skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various poses. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO sets inspired by films, this one contains hidden Easter eggs for builders to uncover. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection may not yet rival the size of its LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Harry Potter ranges, it is expanding rapidly. As a fan, I eagerly anticipate more adult-focused sets like this T-rex skeleton being added to the lineup in the future.
