The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy delivers a significant upgrade, featuring enhanced visuals, quicker loading times, and support for the innovative mouse controls available on the new console.

As shown in a recently released comparison teaser trailer, players who experienced the original version were required to endure loading screens when traveling between areas like Hogsmeade and the castle. The Switch 2 edition eliminates these interruptions, allowing for smooth, seamless transitions across the game world.

Beyond faster performance, the upgrade also enhances overall visual fidelity. The Switch 2 version improves frame rate stability, sharpens textures, refines shadow detail, and boosts color saturation across Hogwarts and its surrounding environments—making the magical world more vibrant and immersive than ever. And then there are the mouse controls—something that’s sparked a lot of curiosity. While Warner Bros. has remained tight-lipped for now, speculation suggests the new input method could enhance spell-casting mechanics, offering greater precision and interactivity during magical encounters.

Similar to other titles from the original Switch era, owners of the current-gen version of Hogwarts Legacy can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 enhanced edition for $10.
