The much-anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei, has finally revealed its release date alongside an exciting new trailer that dives into the game's story and gameplay. PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have thrilled fans with the announcement of Ghost of Yōtei's release date. The game's new trailer, "The Onryō’s List," released on April 23, showcases the gripping story and thrilling gameplay, culminating in the eagerly awaited release date of October 2, 2025.

In Ghost of Yōtei, players will follow the journey of Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (present-day Hokkaido). Fueled by vengeance, Atsu seeks to hunt down the notorious Yōtei Six—the group responsible for the brutal murder of her family. The outlaws, known as The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito, are her targets as she aims to bring justice to each one.

This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and it builds upon the success of its predecessor with new weapons, mechanics, and an immersive storyline that promises to captivate players.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

One of the standout features of Ghost of Yōtei is the freedom it gives players to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order they choose. Sucker Punch detailed this and more in a recent PlayStation.blog post on April 23, giving fans a deeper look into Atsu's journey and the game's expansive world.

The game offers an evolved open-world exploration experience, providing players with more freedom and variety compared to Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond hunting the outlaws, players can engage in various activities in Ezo, such as tracking other dangerous targets, claiming bounties, and learning new skills from weapon sensei.

Returning features from the original game, like the beloved "Guiding Wind," are joined by new mechanics, including the ability to build campfires anywhere in the open world. The developers are focused on giving players the freedom to explore and engage with the vast land of Ezo in their own way.

Pre-Orders, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition

Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei will begin on May 2 at 10:00 AM ET. The standard edition, priced at $69.99, will be available both at retail and on the PlayStation Store. Pre-order bonuses for any edition include an Atsu + Yōtei Six Avatar Set and an In-Game Mask.

The Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $79.99, offers additional in-game bonuses such as The Snake Armor, a Digital Deluxe Armor Dye, a Digital Deluxe Horse and Saddle, a Sword Kit, a Charm, and early access to the Traveler’s Map, which helps players find statues to upgrade their skills.

For dedicated fans, the Ghost of Yōtei Collector’s Edition, priced at $249.99, includes everything in the Digital Deluxe Edition plus exclusive physical items: Atsu’s Ghost Mask, Atsu’s Sash with the names of the Yōtei Six, a Tsuba from Atsu’s Katana, a Zeni Hajiki Coin Game and Pouch, a Papercraft Ginkgo Tree, and Art Cards.
