Marvel Contest of Champions is set to introduce a thrilling array of content in April, headlined by the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another intriguing character, Lumatrix, will make his debut, bringing a completely different energy to the game.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering event when she was exposed to uranium as a child, leading to severe illness. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a unique blend of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the experiment's negative effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider-like abilities, eventually becoming Spider-Woman. Players can look forward to adding her to their roster starting April 17th.

Before Spider-Woman's arrival, the game welcomes Lumatrix on April 9th. Known as one of the most lethal assassins ever engineered by the Founders, Lumatrix specializes in infiltration and assassination, wielding powerful light-based abilities.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina suffering severe injuries from an encounter with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom joins forces with the Fantastic Four as the Chronoserpent corruption continues to spread. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the fray, adding more depth to the storyline.

A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," launches on April 9th and runs through May 7th. Black Widow takes the lead in unraveling the mysteries surrounding the Eidols, with Spider-Woman joining her to piece together the puzzle.

Dark Phoenix returns in a Side Quest called "Dark Bounties," where she has placed bounties on various Champions. Players must track these Champions down to claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also makes a comeback, challenging players to gather their most powerful Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
