Deltarune's Exclusive Features on Nintendo Switch 2
Deltarune, the much-anticipated game from Toby Fox, is set to launch with exclusive features on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, Deltarune's Switch 2 version will include chapters 3 and 4, alongside some exciting new features designed specifically for the next-gen console.
Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2
One of the standout features of Deltarune's Switch 2 version is a unique room that utilizes the new Joy-Cons' mouse functionality. Toby Fox, the game's developer, shared in a Fangamer newsletter, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!" This innovative feature will allow players to experience gameplay in a way that's exclusive to the Switch 2.
For those playing on other devices, this special room will still be accessible but with a different control scheme. Additionally, players can transfer their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a seamless transition to the latest chapters.
Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free
In exciting news for fans, Toby Fox confirmed in the newsletter that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, along with the new releases of Chapters 3 and 4. While Chapters 1 and 2 were released for free in 2018 and 2021 respectively, it was previously announced that future chapters (3-5) would be paid content. However, Fox has now announced that all upcoming chapters will be added as free updates. He stated, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."
The game's soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Songs from future chapters will be added for free, ensuring that fans get the most value out of their purchase. Deltarune aims to provide an exceptional gaming experience, making every penny spent feel worthwhile with its promise of free future content.
Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are set to release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.
