Authore: JulianUpdate:May 14,2025

In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the choices you make can significantly impact your gameplay, especially during the "The Tea Ceremony" mission. Deciding whether to confront Wakasa or Otama is crucial and will shape the rest of your campaign. Both characters present compelling reasons to be suspicious, but there's a clear choice that simplifies the quest significantly.

After the tea ceremony in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, the optimal choice is to confront Wakasa. She is the true Golden Teppo of the Onryo, and confronting her directly leads to the easiest resolution of the mission. When you choose to confront Wakasa, she will invite Naoe to her home for a private conversation. Upon entering, you'll spot a kasa (straw hat) on the wall, the same one she wore as the Onryo during the prologue, confirming your decision.

Following some dialogue, Naoe can swiftly end the mission by taking Wakasa's Teppo from the wall and shooting her at point-blank range. This approach not only simplifies the mission but also provides a satisfying cinematic kill, especially considering Wakasa's role in Naoe's father's death.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Choosing to confront Otama after the tea ceremony will still allow you to kill Wakasa, but it complicates the mission significantly. Initially, Naoe will chase down and kill Otama, discovering a letter that reveals her corruption. However, this mistake allows Wakasa to retreat to Osaka Castle, fortifying her position with her soldiers.

To reach Wakasa, you must travel to Osaka Castle, either engaging her soldiers in combat or attempting to sneak past them. Even if you've unlocked the nearby Osaka Tenshu fast travel point, you'll still face some opposition. Sneaking up on Wakasa for an assassination isn't enough; you'll need to fight her in a one-on-one battle, which, while not overly difficult, adds complexity and time to the mission.

Clearly, choosing to confront Wakasa directly is the smoother and more rewarding path. It not only makes the mission easier but also more narratively satisfying.

Now that you're equipped with the best strategy for the Tea Ceremony mission, consider how to gain XP and level up quickly in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* to tackle the game's more challenging missions. Additionally, learn how to efficiently earn more Knowledge Points to unlock new skills for Naoe and Yasuke.
