Clash Royale's research reveals a decline in Christmas card enthusiasm: Six in ten adults receive fewer cards, and a staggering 79% are indifferent. Over 40% even hope this trend continues into 2024.
Capitalizing on this "festive fatigue," Clash Royale has launched a humorous London pop-up at Boxpark Shoreditch. Attendees can shred unwanted Christmas cards in exchange for in-game rewards – a guilt-free alternative to discarding them.
But the anti-Christmas sentiment extends beyond cards. Clash Royale's research shows a significant portion of Brits are rebelling against festive traditions: one in five are tired of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," while over 20% have publicly voiced their disdain for Christmas music or opted for beef instead of turkey.
The anti-Christmas spirit even targets Clash Royale's content creators. YouTubers, such as Orange Juice Gaming, are receiving intentionally awful gifts (think socks, oven mitts, and nail clippers), but with a fun twist: Clash Royale-themed wrapping paper containing in-game rewards for fans.
