Captain America: Brave New World has outperformed expectations with an estimated $100 million domestic opening during the Presidents Day holiday weekend.

Box office analytics firm Comscore reports the Marvel Studios film earned approximately $88.5 million across 4,105 theaters over its first three days, with projections reaching $100 million for the four-day holiday frame. Combined with $92.4 million from international markets, the film's global debut stands at $192.4 million.

As reported by Deadline, the production budget for Captain America: Brave New World reached $180 million, requiring approximately $425 million worldwide to break even.

Comparatively, this opening places the film as the fourth-highest Presidents Day weekend debut in box office history, trailing behind other superhero titles: Black Panther ($242 million), Deadpool ($152 million), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120 million).

The strong opening comes despite mixed critical reception. IGN's review scored the film 5/10, noting: "Captain America: Brave New World delivers neither the bravery nor freshness its title promises, despite compelling performances from Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, and Carl Lumbly."

Industry analysts are monitoring whether the film can sustain momentum beyond its opening weekend, potentially reversing recent box office trends for Marvel Cinematic Universe releases (with last year's Deadpool & Wolverine being the notable exception). Its performance could impact the upcoming slate including Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
