Splitgate 2 Release Date and Time ### Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest

Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest took place from February 27th to March 3rd, 2025. Unlike last year’s PC-only Closed Alpha, this event was accessible on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

No registration was required; all players were welcome to participate. According to the game’s press release, the playtest featured new maps, weapons, game modes, and even an 8v8v8 multiplayer experience.

Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Playtest

Splitgate 2’s Closed Alpha Playtest concluded on August 25, 2024. The test started on August 21st of the same year and was accessible to invited players and those who obtained Alpha keys. These are obtainable by pressing the "Request Access" button on the game’s Steam page or by watching participating Twitch streamers for two hours (earned through Twitch Drops).

While the initial Alpha was exclusive to PC, the developers have confirmed that the upcoming Alpha playtest in 2025 will support PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
