The game's dark gothic atmosphere, intense side-scrolling combat, and unforgiving difficulty are hallmarks of its design. Players take on the role of The Penitent One, a warrior tasked with liberating the cursed island of Cvstodia from the blight known as The Miracle. Combat involves facing grotesque creatures born from a twisted blend of religious imagery and Spanish folklore.
The Android port features a revamped UI optimized for touchscreens and offers Bluetooth gamepad compatibility for players who prefer that control method. All previously released DLC is included.
While the iOS release is still pending, the overwhelmingly positive reception from players and critics suggests it will be well worth the wait.
