Bandai Namco Announces Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage EOS

Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024, ending nearly seven years of gameplay. This isn't entirely unexpected, following a similar fate for Naruto Blazing.

The Final Countdown

Launched in 2017, the game will continue to operate until its December shutdown. Players can still enjoy several upcoming events:

  • Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
  • All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
  • "Thanks For Everything" Campaign: November 1st - December 1st

Throughout this period, players can collect Ninja Cards, participate in summoning events, and utilize in-game items. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins before the shutdown.

What Led to the Closure?

While initially praised for its balanced gameplay, allowing players to build and defend villages using their favorite Naruto characters, the game's trajectory shifted. The introduction of Minato triggered a noticeable power creep, alienating many players. This, coupled with increasingly prominent pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features, ultimately contributed to the game's decline and eventual closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in a final playthrough. Meanwhile, check out our latest coverage on Wings of Heroes' new Squadron Wars feature.
