Midjiwan has unleashed a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This marks a major refresh for the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion receive a stunning visual revamp. Land units now sport mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic warriors. This change allows them to traverse water effortlessly, though they move slower on land. The update also introduces flooded terrain, a first for the game, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same spaces.
Buildings have also received an aquatic makeover. Construction on water is now possible, and Lost Cities are hidden within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal bases for aquatic warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. The update also reintroduces Aqua Crops, a permanent addition to the Aquarion arsenal, functioning similarly to land-based crops.
New Aquatic Units Join the Fray
Prepare to encounter new sea creatures! Sharks provide surprise attacks, Puffers offer long-range bombardment, and Jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also get upgrades; Crabs now flood the tiles they traverse, complementing the mermaid-tailed troops perfectly. Intrigued? Check out the trailer below!
