Alienware Slashes Prices on RTX 4090 Gaming PCs

The GeForce RTX 4090 may be a generation older than the new Blackwell 50 series GPUs, but it remains one of the most powerful graphics cards available, outperforming the GeForce RTX 5080, RTX 4080 Super, Radeon RX 9070 XT, and RX 7900 XTX. Only the RTX 5090 surpasses its performance, though securing one at a reasonable price can be a challenge due to significant markups.

Due to its discontinuation, the RTX 4090 is becoming harder to find. However, Dell offers two prebuilt gaming PC options equipped with this GPU at competitive prices. The Alienware Aurora R16, starting at $2,999.99, and the Dell Tower Plus, starting at $2,849.99, are currently the best deals for an RTX 4090-equipped system. Many other manufacturers, including Lenovo and HP, no longer offer RTX 4090 prebuilt gaming PCs.

How Does the RTX 4090 Stack Up Against Current Cards?

The RTX 4090 is the pinnacle of the RTX 40 series GPUs. Only the RTX 5090, with its $2,000 MSRP, outpaces it. The RTX 4090 excels at running games at 4K resolution, delivering over 60 fps with max settings and ray tracing enabled, especially with DLSS support. Path tracing remains a challenge for all GPUs, but it's rarely used outside of benchmarks and social media show-offs. For most gamers, the RTX 4090's performance is more than adequate, making the RTX 5090's additional power unnecessary.
