Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

Authore: SkylarUpdate:Apr 14,2025

Dell has just launched an unbeatable deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now available for only $2,399.99 with the new GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. This price point is a steal compared to other prebuilt systems with the same GPU, especially considering the upward trend in prices since the RTX 50 series debuted in January. At Dell, the next closest option with an RTX 5080 GPU starts at over $4,000. And if you're considering building your own PC, good luck finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU without breaking the bank.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, paired with a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, part of the Meteor Lake series, features a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, 20 cores, and a 30MB cache. The system is cooled efficiently with a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler and runs on a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of the new Blackwell graphics cards, which are currently in high demand and hard to find. In our review, Jackie notes, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be a significant upgrade – it doesn't offer a substantial performance leap over the RTX 4080, though the DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation does enhance game visuals. However, if you're upgrading from an older GPU, the RTX 5080 will provide a substantial boost, especially if you're keen on Nvidia’s AI enhancements."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a similar look to the 2024 R16 system but features updated aesthetics and cooling improvements. The I/O panel has been moved to the top, and the tempered glass now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design for a cleaner interior. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.
