Earlier this year, Dell revived the iconic Alienware Area-51 lineup of prebuilt gaming PCs, but until recently, the only graphics card option was the RTX 5080. That has now changed. You can now configure your system with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, currently the most powerful graphics card available. As an added benefit, one of the two ready-to-ship configurations is currently on sale.

Alienware Area-51 Intel Core Ultra 9 285K RTX 5090 Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)
12$5,499.99 save 9%$4,999.99 at Alienware
This Alienware Area-51 configuration is now priced at $4,999.99 following an instant $500 discount. It features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage. The Core Ultra 9 285K is Intel's newest flagship CPU, delivering outstanding performance for both workstations and gaming. While the performance boost over the i9-14900K isn't as significant as some had hoped, it remains Intel's best all-around processor. The CPU is cooled by a substantial 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the system is driven by a 1,500W Platinum-rated power supply.
New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a familiar look from the 2024 R16 model but includes redesigned aesthetics and cooling, alongside updated internal components. The I/O panel has been moved to the top of the case instead of the front, and the tempered glass side panel now covers the entire side, eliminating the smaller window cutout. As a result, the side vents have been removed, with air intakes now positioned at the bottom and front of the chassis. Alienware has adopted a positive airflow design (more intake than exhaust), which helps reduce dust buildup inside. The internals have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more robust power supply to support the latest CPUs and GPUs.
The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has solidified its position as the most powerful consumer GPU available. Although Nvidia has focused on software enhancements, AI capabilities, and DLSS 4 technology to boost in-game performance, the RTX 5090 still delivers a notable 25%-30% improvement in raw raster performance over the RTX 4090. It also features more VRAM (32GB compared to 24GB) and utilizes faster GDDR7 memory instead of GDDR6. This graphics card is exceptionally hard to find at its suggested retail price and is currently reselling for between $3,500 and $4,000 on eBay.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially dethroned the RTX 4090, though the performance leap is more modest compared to previous generations. For traditional, non-AI gaming, the RTX 5090 offers one of the smallest generational improvements we've seen recently. However, in titles that support it, DLSS 4 delivers substantial performance uplifts—just be aware that up to 75% of the frames are AI-generated."
