Pokémon TCG Pocket launches its hotly-anticipated trading feature and Space-Time Smackdown

Pokémon TCG Pocket’s highly anticipated trading feature has finally arrived, launching alongside the exciting new Space-Time Smackdown expansion! This is great news for dedicated fans as January winds down.

Trading works much like real-life card trading, allowing you to exchange cards with friends. However, there are some limitations. Only certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star cards) are currently tradeable, and you'll need trade hourglasses and tokens to facilitate trades. Despite these restrictions, it’s a significant addition to the game.

But the excitement doesn't stop there! The Space-Time Smackdown expansion introduces iconic Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia to TCG Pocket, alongside the Sinnoh region starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, and much more!

The reception to the new trading feature, however, has been somewhat mixed. While the feature itself is well-implemented, the numerous caveats have caused some frustration among players. Many feel the game would have benefited from either omitting trading entirely or implementing a more accessible, less restrictive system. Fortunately, the developers are reportedly monitoring player feedback and may introduce changes in the future.
