L'échec de Suicide Squad affecte toujours Rocksteady. Nouvelle vague de licenciements au studio

Fin 2024, Rocksteady Studios, le créateur de Suicide Squad : Kill the Justice League, a annoncé de nouvelles suppressions d'emplois. Six employés anonymes ont signalé les licenciements, affectant les programmeurs, les artistes et les testeurs. Cela fait suite aux licenciements de septembre, qui ont réduit de moitié l'équipe de test, passant de 33 à 15.

Rocksteady a fait face à des obstacles importants en 2024, luttant pour maintenir Suicide Squad : Kill the Justice League au milieu d'une mauvaise réception. Warner Bros. a signalé des pertes de projet d'environ 200 millions de dollars. En décembre, les développeurs ont confirmé qu'il n'y aurait pas de mise à jour pour 2025, même si les serveurs resteront actifs.

Les pertes d’emplois se sont étendues au-delà de Rocksteady. Games Montréal, un studio Warner Bros. derrière Batman : Arkham Origins et Gotham Knights, a également licencié 99 employés en décembre.

La situation s'est aggravée avec la sortie en accès anticipé. Les joueurs ont rencontré de nombreux bugs, notamment des pannes de serveur et un spoiler majeur de l'histoire. Le gameplay a également suscité de nombreuses critiques.

Les principales publications de jeux vidéo ont émis des critiques négatives, entraînant une vague substantielle de remboursements. La société d'analyse McLuck a signalé une augmentation choquante de 791 % des demandes de remboursement suite au lancement désastreux du jeu.

Les futurs projets de Rocksteady restent inédits.

The BMX, skate, and parkour zone is open to the public and free to access, with free gear check-ins and safety zones provided. It’s a bold new chapter in Red Bull’s mission to inspire and empower urban athletes worldwide.
