Le phénomène de chasse aux fantômes Phasmophobia, développé par Kinetic Games, sera adapté au grand écran grâce à un partenariat avec le géant de l'horreur Blumhouse Productions (Five Nights at Freddy's, The Conjuring, M3gan). Le projet cinématographique en est à ses débuts et l'équipe créative n'a pas encore été dévoilée.

Ce jeu coopératif d'horreur s'est écoulé à plus de 23 millions d'exemplaires depuis son lancement en 2020, révolutionnant le genre des enquêtes paranormales avec son gameplay multijoueur intense. Kinetic Games continue de soutenir Phasmophobia avec des mises à jour majeures - la prochaine refonte Chronicle modifiera en profondeur la collecte de preuves, les systèmes de journal et les mécaniques de progression. Blumhouse, quant à eux, préparent l'adaptation cinématographique après celle de Five Nights at Freddy's (notée 4/10 par IGN), pour apporter l'expérience d'enquête paranormale au cinéma.
