Sonic Galactic: un juego para fans inspirado en Sonic Mania

Sonic Galactic, un título creado por fans de Starteam, evoca el espíritu de Sonic Mania, capturando el encanto del juego clásico de Sonic y el pixel art. Este trabajo de amor, de cuatro años de desarrollo, debutó en la Sonic Amateur Games Expo 2020. El juego imagina una aventura de Sonic de 32 bits, similar a un hipotético lanzamiento de Sega Saturn.

La segunda demostración del juego (principios de 2025) ofrece una nostálgica experiencia de plataformas en 2D que recuerda a la era Génesis, al tiempo que agrega giros únicos. Los jugadores pueden controlar al trío icónico (Sonic, Tails y Knuckles) en nuevas zonas. A la lista se unen dos nuevos personajes jugables: Fang the Sniper (de Sonic Triple Trouble) que busca venganza contra el Dr. Eggman, y Tunnel the Mole, proveniente de Illusion Island.

Cada personaje cuenta con caminos únicos dentro de cada zona, reflejando el diseño de Sonic Mania. Las etapas especiales, claramente inspiradas en Mania, desafían a los jugadores a recolectar anillos dentro de un límite de tiempo en un entorno 3D. Si bien jugar completamente los niveles de Sonic toma aproximadamente una hora, cada personaje adicional tiene un solo nivel, lo que resulta en un tiempo total de juego de alrededor de dos horas. La demostración ofrece una muestra convincente de lo que ofrece este ambicioso proyecto para fans.
