Dataminers uncovered animations hinting at Hara-Kiri Fatalities as Quitalities

A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered strong evidence suggesting the addition of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, rebranded as Quitalities, in a future update.

Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations within the game's code. Hara-Kiri finishers, a self-inflicted fatality first seen in Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004), allow defeated players to end their own lives spectacularly. The discovery is particularly compelling as these animations include recently added DLC characters like Ghostface, making it highly likely they're intended for inclusion rather than being scrapped content. InfiniteNightZ noted the animations are labeled as "Quitalities" in the game's code, suggesting they'll trigger when a player quits a multiplayer match, a feature present in previous Mortal Kombat titles.

Further bolstering this theory, prominent dataminer Interloko subsequently discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations, confirming their existence within the game's files. However, it's important to remember that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games haven't officially announced Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.

The Mortal Kombat 1 community is currently buzzing with excitement following the recent addition of a secret fight featuring the pink ninja, Floyd, and the ongoing efforts to decipher his unlock requirements. With the upcoming T-1000 guest character and the potential for further DLC on the horizon, the anticipation for future updates remains high.
