The Game:

Tien Len Mien Nam, also known as Thirteen Cards, is a popular Asian card game where the goal is simple: be the fastest to empty your hand. Each player starts with 13 cards. The round begins with the player holding the 3 of Spades. Players take turns playing higher-ranked card sets, or passing. Three passes end the round, and the last player to play begins the next. The game concludes when one player plays all their cards.

Card Sets and Ranking:

Legal card sets include:

Single card
Pair
Triple
Quadruple (special)
Series (consecutive sequence)
Double Series (consecutive pairs, special)

Card ranks (lowest to highest): 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A, 2. Suits rank: Spade (highest), Club, Diamond, Heart (lowest). Sets are compared by their highest-ranking card.

Special Rules for Winning:

The 2 (Deuce or Pig) is the highest-ranking card. However, certain special sets can beat deuces:

A Double Series of 6 cards beats a single Deuce.
A Quadruple beats a Double Series of 6, a single Deuce, or a pair of Deuces.
A Double Series of 8 cards beats a Quadruple, a Double Series of 6, a single Deuce, or a pair of Deuces.

Automatic Wins:

Certain hands result in an immediate win, bypassing normal gameplay:
