World of Warcraft: The War Within – Patch 11.1 Prologue and Dalaran Epilogue Guide

The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues beyond the Siren Isle update. Season 2, anticipated later in 2025, promises new endgame content and the next chapter of this expansion. However, Patch 11.0.7 introduces crucial story quests setting the stage for Patch 11.1, focusing on the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic destruction of Dalaran, though initially time-gated.

Updated January 7, 2025: The latest campaign quests mark a significant turning point. Dalaran, a long-standing Warcraft location, suffers irreparable damage in The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue questline provides closure and a farewell to this once-important social hub.

Accessing the Patch 11.1 Prologue: Lingering Shadows

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the "Lingering Shadows" campaign begins immediately. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaigns isn't required, but recommended for context. The questline includes:

Unlocking the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially, a three-week time gate restricted access. As of January 7th, this restriction is lifted. However, you must complete both The War Within's leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (requiring Renown Four with all four Khaz Algar factions).

Check Foundation Hall (Patch 11.1 prologue starting point). If Khadgar is present (post-January 7th), you can begin. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests.
