The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premieres May 4, 2025, as exclusively revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025.
IGN unveiled an exclusive clip and interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer, The Walking Dead Universe), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) during Fan Fest 2025 Day 2.
Cohan described Maggie's mental state entering Season 2: "Sadly, not everything is rosy. My son's a teenager, creating typical family tensions. Add Ginny into the mix, and we have relatable domestic dynamics playing out against the backdrop of the apocalypse—trying to survive, eat, and sleep before the next big threat hits."
Jeffrey Dean Morgan discussed Negan's journey from villain to fan favorite: "Negan's firmly under The Dama and The Croat's thumb, in unfamiliar territory. He'll scheme to regain control, but he's in a tough spot, struggling at the season's start."Morgan also commented on Lucille: "What can I say about Lucille? I love that thing! It's the only prop I've ever enjoyed carrying around—it brings back fond memories, though not for Lauren!"
Gimple teased Season 2's conflict: "There's no single big bad. Power dynamics shift throughout the season. It's more complex, political, and then it gets physical."
