Vampire Survivors PlayStation Update Arrives

Poncle, the UK-based developer behind the hit roguelike Vampire Survivors, has offered a further update on the game's upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 releases. Following the May release of the latest expansion and update, Poncle shed light on the progress of the console ports, initially announced in April for a Summer 2024 release.

Launched in December 2021, Vampire Survivors—a critically acclaimed top-down shooter—already enjoys a successful Nintendo Switch port. However, the PlayStation versions are proving more complex due to Poncle's unfamiliarity with Sony's submission processes. The developer is also meticulously crafting the PlayStation Trophies, aiming for a polished achievement system that lives up to the game's over 200 Steam achievements.

While a precise release date remains elusive, Poncle assures players it will be revealed shortly.

The developer's transparency has been well-received, with many expressing excitement about earning the coveted platinum trophy—a testament to completing all achievements—upon the game's release.

The recent May 9th release of the Operation Guns DLC, a Vampire Survivors expansion based on Konami's Contra franchise, added new Contra-inspired biomes, 11 characters, 22 automatic weapons, and classic Contra music. A subsequent hotfix (1.10.105) on May 16th addressed bugs in both the base game and the new DLC.
