The Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO is drawing to a close, marking the arrival of its final chapter: Final Strike: GO Battle Week. This action-packed week begins on May 21st, 2025, and runs through May 27th, 2025, bringing Kubfu’s journey full circle in a thrilling finale.

What’s Happening During Final Strike: GO Battle Week?

After weeks of training and battling, trainers will finally have the chance to evolve Kubfu into the powerful Legendary Pokémon, Urshifu—and yes, both forms are available!

To evolve Kubfu into Single Strike Urshifu, set Kubfu as your buddy and defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Raid Battles.
For Rapid Strike Urshifu, follow the same process but battle 30 Water-type Pokémon instead.

This is your last opportunity to earn either form through gameplay, so choose your path wisely and prepare for battle.

In addition, a Special Research quest continues the season’s storyline and remains available until June 3rd, 2025. Completing this quest rewards Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and exclusive encounters with themed Pokémon like Charcadet, complete with a special background.

May 25th: Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day

Mark your calendars—May 25th is Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day, live from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This event features the debut of Gigantamax Machamp in six-star Max Raid Battles, along with a host of exciting bonuses:

Travel distance for earning Max Particles is reduced to one-fourth the usual requirement.
The Max Particle storage cap increases to 1,600.
All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles.
Earn 8× Max Particles from Power Spot activities during the event window.
Receive two additional Special Trades for the day.

Don’t forget to stock up on Max Mushrooms—these handy items double the damage output of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon for a limited time. While stacking multiple Max Mushrooms extends the duration, the damage boost does not increase beyond 2×.
