Unveiling 'Mask Around': A Haunting Adventure in Roguelike Lore

Mask Around: The sequel to the bizarre 2020 hit, Mask Up, is here! This time, get ready for a blend of run-and-gun action and intense brawling. The iconic yellow ooze returns, but with some unexpected twists.

For those unfamiliar, Mask Up was a unique roguelike platformer where you evolved from a simple yellow goo puddle into a powerful, well, goo-monster. Developer Rouli has once again delivered the strange and wonderful with Mask Around.

Unlike its predecessor, which focused primarily on 2D brawling, Mask Around integrates 2D shooting mechanics. You can seamlessly switch between gunning down foes and utilizing your goo-based abilities to smash your way through levels.

However, the precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource, so careful management is crucial, especially during boss fights.

More Than Just Goo

Mask Around is currently available on Google Play; iOS release details are yet to be announced. While I haven't played the original, Mask Around appears to be a significant improvement, retaining core gameplay elements while significantly expanding upon them. The challenge now lies not only in conserving your ooze but also in strategically using it alongside your weaponry. The visuals also boast a noticeable polish.
