Universe for Sale Is a New Visual Novel Set in a Bizarre Bazaar on Planet Jupiter

Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio have released their latest adventure game, Universe for Sale. Following the success of titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti earlier this year, Akupara Games continues to deliver intriguing and captivating experiences.

Is the Universe Really for Sale?

Set on a Jupiter space station, Universe for Sale plunges players into a bizarre, acid-rain-soaked bazaar brimming with mystery. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks alongside cultists bartering flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the extraordinary ability to create universes from her very palm.

The game begins in the shantytown of a mining colony, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment – a character both creepy and compelling. Exploring the ramshackle colony, filled with quirky tea shops and other oddities, you eventually stumble upon Honin’s Tea House, Lila’s shop, and a mystery begins to unfold as you shift between Lila's and the Master's perspectives.

Playing as Lila allows you to create universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to generate mesmerizing visual worlds. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.

The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the underlying events. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages exploration of every corner.
