Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Gets Rating in Singapore

The fire of rumors surrounding a potential Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake just got more fuel added to it. The Singaporean ratings board has recently rated "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for a 2025 release, sparking excitement among fans of the iconic skateboarding series. This rumored remake, encompassing the next two mainline entries in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, is expected to hit a wide array of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, as listed by the ratings board.

Although no official confirmation has been announced for this collection, a countdown timer spotted in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is teasing some Tony Hawk's Pro Skater news is on the horizon. The timer is set to expire on March 4, 2025, heightening anticipation for an imminent announcement. Additionally, Tony Hawk himself has hinted at something in the works with Activision. During an interview with Mythical Kitchen, Hawk mentioned that he's been in discussions with Activision and that "it will be something the fans will truly appreciate."

Following the critically acclaimed remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 in 2020, a remake of the next two games seemed like a logical next step. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 were widely speculated to be the next in line for a remake, especially after the success of the first two. However, in 2021, Activision merged the THPS remake developer, Vicarious Visions, into Blizzard, redirecting their focus to "Blizzard games and initiatives."

Tony Hawk revealed in a 2022 Twitch livestream that the original plan was to move forward with a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake immediately after the release of 1+2. "Even up until the release day" of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake, the plan was to tackle 3+4 next. However, when Vicarious Visions was absorbed, Activision began searching for other developers. Hawk explained, "The truth of it is that [Activision] were trying to find somebody to do 3 + 4 but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious, so they took other pitches from other studios. Like, ‘What would you do with the THPS title?’ And they didn’t like anything they heard, and then that was it."

With the Singaporean ratings board listing Activision as both the publisher and developer for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake, the big question remains: who is actually developing this eagerly awaited title? As we approach the countdown's end on March 4, next week looks set to provide more clarity on this much-anticipated project.
