Inspired by the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Tides of Annihilation casts players as Gwendolyn, a young woman fighting alongside ghostly knights to save her family and a shattered world. The game unfolds in a devastated, otherworldly-invaded London, where hordes of enemies swarm the streets. Players will face colossal knight enemies roaming the city, engaging in intense battles by climbing atop these behemoths.
While visually stunning, the game's familiar Arthurian premise may hinder its appeal. Recent soulslike games have successfully adapted lesser-known stories like Journey to the West and Pinocchio (in Lies of P), offering fresh perspectives. However, Tides of Annihilation's Arthurian narrative, despite its beautiful presentation, lacks a similarly unique hook.
