Warframe's TennoCon 2024: A Blast from the Past with Warframe: 1999

TennoCon 2024 delivered a knockout punch with the announcement of Warframe: 1999, a massive update promising a retro-futuristic adventure. This year's convention showcased a captivating blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge gameplay.

Get ready for a trip back in time with a prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," launching in August 2024. Reuniting players with a beloved character, this quest sets the stage for the main event, introducing the world of 1999 and the new Warframe, Sevatgoth Prime, and its exclusive weapons. Completing "The Lotus Eaters" is a prerequisite for accessing Warframe: 1999, slated for release in Winter 2024.

Warframe: 1999 plunges players into an alternate 1999, where a deadly Y2K virus threatens global catastrophe. The setting? Höllvania, a vibrant 90s city corrupted by Techrot. Navigate this retro-dystopia on Atomicyles, futuristic vehicles capable of bullet jumps, drifts, and explosive maneuvers. Commanding these machines are the Hex, a team of six unique characters, each sporting a Protoframe, a Warframe design showcasing the human form beneath.

Meet the Hex: Arthur (Excalibur), Aoi (Mag), Quincy (CYTE-09), and more, brought to life by an impressive cast including Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina, and Amelia Tyler. Interact with them via instant messaging – a truly 1999 experience!

Prepare for a showdown with On-lyne, a 90s boy band turned Technocyte-infected enemies, led by the charismatic Zeke (voiced by Nick Apostolides). Their infectious tunes, including the hit single "Party of Your Lifetime," are now available on major streaming services.

Fashion-forward Tenno rejoice! Warframe: 1999 significantly enhances the fashion system. Dual fashion frame loadouts allow for seamless switching between styles, while the new Gemini Skins enable players to bring Protoframes like Arthur and Aoi into the Origin System, complete with fully voiced dialogue.

Anime Arthur and Aoi

Beyond the core gameplay, Digital Extremes is collaborating with THE LINE to produce an anime short film based on Warframe: 1999, launching later this year. Additionally, new Heirloom skins for Ember (available now) and Rhino (early 2025) are on their way.

With Warframe: 1999 on the horizon, download Warframe now from the App Store and prepare for a time-traveling adventure!
