"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has unveiled Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for this live-service game. Launched to mixed reviews in February 2024, the game's journey concluded sooner than expected, with Rocksteady announcing the cessation of further development on December 9, 2024. The final patch, released on January 14, is now accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.

Despite its promising premise of featuring DC's iconic anti-heroes, the unexpected integration of live-service mechanics is widely believed to have contributed to the game's swift decline. Within just 10 months, the studio declared that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the last chapter for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. However, Rocksteady assured players that all online functionalities would persist, allowing continued multiplayer enjoyment.

Following a brief server downtime, the final content update, Season 4 Episode 8: Balance, went live. Players can now dive into new challenges, including an Infamy Set inspired by DC Super-Villain Libra, a range of potent Notorious weapons, and a climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. This update also includes significant bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as lowered XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Even after the release of Season 4 Episode 8, the game's servers will remain active. Thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7, players can also enjoy the game's content, including the main campaign and seasonal story missions, without needing an internet connection. While there's no current plan to shut down the servers entirely, the offline mode ensures players can continue playing if that ever changes.

For those yet to experience Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game is now available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, bundled with The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Explore the medieval Elseworld in Episode 8: Balance, featuring new and familiar locations with unique twists. Challenge yourself at The Quarry, a fortified citadel, and engage in epic battles at The Arena, perfect for jousting tournaments or interdimensional conflicts. Behold the majestic statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van, embodying the spirit of chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

The Infamy Set for Episode 8 draws inspiration from Libra, a DC Super-Villain obsessed with balance. This set applies Scales of Libra stacks to enemies, amplifying both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack, promoting a thrilling and strategic playstyle.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra's Infamy Set are several Notorious weapons:

  • The Silencer’s Complete Silence: This assassin-inspired weapon delivers a 200% damage bonus to enemies with Scales of Libra stacks. Its Alt-Fire unleashes a 1,000% damage boost and creates a Silencer Zone, drastically reducing enemy damage output, ideal for crowd control.

  • Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets: These piercing bullets apply Scales of Libra and have a chance to electrify enemies, making them perfect for devastating multiple foes with a single shot.

  • Chronos’ Equilibrium: Encouraging a high-risk, high-reward playstyle, this weapon increases damage output by 25% for every 1% of missing Shield, keeping players in the heart of the action.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Adjusted the duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike to align more closely with other characters.
  • Decreased XP requirements for Squad Levels, with retroactive rewards for previously earned XP, potentially increasing Squad Levels and available Squad Points.
