Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season 2 with a massive content drop! Get ready for new characters, a new map, and exciting challenges. Plus, exclusive rewards await those who watch the new episodes.
Netflix's surprise holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed—a free-to-play battle royale game—was a bold move. Now, with this Season 2 update, they're cleverly incentivizing both subscribers and non-subscribers to engage with the show.
What's in store for players? Starting January 3rd, experience a new map inspired by the Season 2 mini-game, Mingle. Three new playable characters—Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos—will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing you to unlock them. And the best part? Watching Squid Game Season 2 earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit.
Here's the January schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: New Mingle map and Geum-Ja character unlock event (Dalgona Mash Up Collection, until January 9th). Complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event (Thanos’ Red Light Challenge, until January 14th). Eliminate players with knives to unlock him.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character.
Squid Game: Unleashed might be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. Offering free access was a bold move, but rewarding Netflix subscribers and encouraging viewing is a brilliant strategy to boost both the game and the show.
