Square Enix RPG Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

RPG fans can celebrate! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed Square Enix title, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a temporary removal. This follows a recent shift in publishing rights from Nintendo to Square Enix, a possible explanation for the brief delisting.

The popular tactical RPG, reminiscent of classic Square Enix titles and comparable to Fire Emblem, is now readily available for purchase and download. Its return follows a several-day absence from the online store.

Square Enix confirmed the game's reappearance on Twitter, though the reason for its initial removal remains unstated. Speculation points to the recent acquisition of publishing rights from Nintendo. This isn't the first time a Square Enix game has been briefly delisted; Octopath Traveler experienced a similar situation last year, though its absence lasted considerably longer.

This swift return of Triangle Strategy is welcome news for Nintendo Switch owners and underscores the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. This collaboration has resulted in several Nintendo Switch exclusives, including the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (before its multi-platform release) and the original release of Dragon Quest 11. While Square Enix expands to other platforms, its history of console exclusives, dating back to the original Final Fantasy on the NES, continues with titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (currently PlayStation 5 exclusive).
