Surprise-announced during February's PlayStation State of Play, a new trailer revealed the Open Alpha Test will run from February 27th, 2025, to March 2nd, 2025, on consoles and PC. That's five days of portal-jumping mayhem!

True to its name, this test is open to all. However, you'll need to wait until February 27th. To join the fun:
- On February 27th, head to your preferred digital storefront (Steam, PS Store, etc.).

What to Expect in Splitgate 2’s Open Alpha Test
According to 1047 Games' Lead Writer, Nate Dern (via the PlayStation Blog), the Open Alpha will feature crossplay and a brand-new 24-player mode: Multi-Team Portal Warfare. Three teams of eight will battle it out on Splitgate's largest map yet, experimenting with new weapons, perks, and equipment.
The original Splitgate's beloved portal mechanics remain central, allowing for those signature insane outplays and trick shots. While the sequel introduces new classes (or factions) with unique abilities, the core portal gameplay remains the star. Dern emphasizes that internal and external feedback has shaped the game's foundation, aiming to create a defining FPS experience.
Splitgate 2's Open Alpha launches February 27th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
