These popular themes, which feature iconic imagery and sounds from past generations, are leaving the PlayStation Store tomorrow, January 31, 2025. However, Sony assures fans that these nostalgic designs will return at some point in the coming months. The company thanked players for the enthusiastic response to the themes, attributing the temporary removal to behind-the-scenes work to ensure a smoother re-release.

While the return of the classic themes is welcome news, Sony has also stated that there are currently no plans to release additional console themes in the future. This announcement has been met with some disappointment from fans who have enjoyed the nostalgic features. The PS5's lack of extensive theme options compared to previous consoles remains a point of discussion.

The recently available themes, released in celebration of PlayStation's 30th anniversary on December 3, 2024, offered a unique way to customize the PS5 home screen and menus. The PSOne theme featured the classic console's design as a background, the PS2 theme incorporated its distinct menu shapes, the PS3 theme used its signature wave background, and the PS4 theme replicated the wave patterns from its predecessor.
