Smite 2's Open Beta Launches with New God, Game Mode, and More

Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, has launched its free-to-play open beta across multiple platforms. Available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck, the open beta introduces a wealth of new content.

This Unreal Engine 5-powered sequel boasts refined visuals and combat mechanics, along with a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility. Gameplay remains core to the original Smite, featuring 5v5 battles where players control gods from various mythologies. The open beta marks the culmination of a successful closed alpha phase, opening the game to a wider audience.

A significant addition is Aladdin, a brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2. Utilizing his unique abilities, including wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic tied to his companion, Aladdin brings a fresh dynamic to the battlefield. His ultimate ability involves capturing enemies within his lamp for a 1v1 duel.

Titan Forge Games, the developer, has expressed its satisfaction with the closed alpha feedback and highlighted Smite 2's improvements over its predecessor. They've also promised ambitious new content for 2025. While currently absent from the Nintendo Switch, the possibility of a future release on the Switch 2 remains open.
