Shrek 5 has unveiled its all-new cast with a brand-new teaser trailer, and even Movie Sonic's not sure what to make of Shrek's new look.
In a playful video shared on TikTok, the Sonic Movie account humorously offered "advice for green ogres," showcasing Movie Sonic's transformation from his initial, much-criticized live-action design to the improved version revealed months later.

Fans were particularly vocal about the character's teeth, physique, small eyes, and oddly human-like fingers.
In response to the backlash, director Jeff Fowler opted to revise the controversial design, committing to a more authentic portrayal. The subsequent redesign was much more warmly received.
Though the reaction to Shrek's new appearance isn't as divisive as Sonic's initial live-action debut, Sonic's light-hearted commentary has delighted fans.
"You know it's bad when you see the Sonic Movie account giving Shrek 5 advice," one user commented, while another exclaimed, "No way they actually posted this" with a crying emoji.
The fifth Shrek movie was first announced in 2016 but remained dormant until Chris Meledandri, CEO of Illumination, confirmed its active development in 2023, also expressing interest in a Donkey spin-off. Universal Pictures rescheduled Shrek 5's release to December 23, 2026, and placed the Despicable 3 spin-off, Minions 3, in its former slot.
