Hunting for resources in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be a rewarding but sometimes challenging endeavor. Sharp Fangs, a crucial crafting material, are particularly sought after for early-game gear like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. This guide will walk you through finding and farming these valuable items.

Early in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you’ll find Sharp Fangs in the Windward Plains. Optional quests like “Beware the Chatacabra” or “The Desert is Demanding” provide convenient access to this area, granting you a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to fuel up with a hearty meal before heading out!

Once in the Windward Plains, focus on Area 8, the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures here have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, the Gaijo is your best bet.

Gaijos: Your Primary Sharp Fang Source

Gaijos are small, crocodile-like leviathans often found near or in riverbeds. Their distinctive snout makes them easy to identify. Use the interactive map to locate their purple diamond markers near water sources. These creatures are relatively weak, making them quick and easy targets, even with early-game weapons. Carving a defeated Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang.

With several Gaijos typically spawning in Area 8, and the ability to repeatedly access the Windward Plains via optional quests, farming Sharp Fangs from Gaijos is an efficient strategy.

Talioth: An Alternative Source

Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), also have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, although it's not guaranteed. While slightly tougher than Gaijos, they still pose little threat with starter weapons. Hunting Talioths also offers a convenient way to complete the “The Desert is Demanding” optional quest (requiring 8 Talioth kills).
