Konami Teases MGS4 PS5 & Xbox Ports
MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4 Remake on the Horizon?
Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke with IGN, subtly acknowledging the intense fan desire to see Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) on modern consoles. While remaining officially silent on concrete plans, Okamura's comments, coupled with the release of Master Collection Vol. 1, strongly suggest MGS4's future involvement.
"We're aware of the strong interest in MGS4," Okamura stated. "With Vol. 1 encompassing MGS 1-3, the implications are clear. We're currently evaluating the series' future direction. We can't offer specifics right now, but stay tuned!"
The possibility of an MGS4 remake or port for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC has been a subject of much fan discussion. The PS3 exclusive's potential inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2 is a highly anticipated prospect, especially given the success of the first volume.
Last year, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, further fueling speculation. IGN reported these titles as likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, though Konami hasn't confirmed this.
Adding to the excitement, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project last November.
Despite the mounting evidence, Konami remains officially tight-lipped about any MGS4 remake or its inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2. The wait continues.
