Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operations on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending nearly six years of service.
Why the Shutdown?
While the game offered a strategic battle system featuring the anime's Stage Girls and boasted impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations, Revue Starlight Re LIVE ultimately struggled to maintain player engagement. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes. Storyline inconsistencies, such as a sudden shift in narrative focus, also impacted its success. The shutdown affects the game globally, including Japan.
A Final Farewell?
Despite its imminent closure, players still have a few weeks to enjoy Revue Starlight Re LIVE. Developers are launching several farewell events throughout August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten daily free pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring new gacha events.
