Rainbow Six Siege Sequel Leaked: Ubisoft Enhances Graphics

A purported leak from an insider known as fraxiswinning suggests Ubisoft will unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled for February 14-16 at the MGM Music Hall.

This alleged project, codenamed Siege X, reportedly utilizes a revamped engine, boasting enhanced visuals with overhauled textures and models. The source also claims that past temporary events from the original game may not be carried over, with Ubisoft focusing on entirely new events instead. A projected release window is the second season of the game's tenth year of support, placing it around mid-2025.

This contradicts previous statements by Rainbow Six Siege's creative director, Alexander Karpazis, who indicated that a full sequel wasn't necessary given the ongoing development of the current title. However, this leak suggests a potential change of plans.

It's crucial to approach such rumors with skepticism. Until official confirmation from Ubisoft, this information remains purely speculative.

Separately, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is rapidly approaching. Twenty teams will battle in Boston for a $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, victors of the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the final qualifying spot.

The twenty-team competition is unusual. While Ubisoft may retain a similar format to last year—four round-robin groups of five teams, followed by double-elimination playoffs—an alternative structure remains a possibility. A likely scenario is that the top team receives a first-round bye, the fourth-place team enters the lower bracket, the remaining teams begin in the upper bracket, and the last-place team in each group is eliminated.
