Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

As 2024 draws to a close, the excitement for 2025 is palpable, and Niantic is leading the charge with the New Year's 2025 event in Pokémon Go. This festive celebration is set to kick off the year with a bang, followed by events like Fidough Fetch and the eagerly awaited Sprigatito Community Day.

Continuing into the new year, the Eggs-pedition Access event will launch on January 1st as part of the Dual Destiny season, running throughout the month. For just $4.99, players can unlock a host of benefits to enhance their Pokémon-catching adventures until January 31st. This includes the ability to store up to 40 Gifts in your Item Bag, open up to 50 Gifts daily, and collect 150 Gifts from spinning Photo Discs. Get a sneak peek at the event in the video below!

What’s in Store for the New Year’s 2025 Event in Pokémon Go?

The New Year's 2025 event in Pokémon Go is scheduled from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there won't be any new Pokémon, Shinies, or costumes this year, which might be a slight disappointment, the event still promises a good time.

During the event, you can encounter Jigglypuff adorned with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple wearing a party hat in the wild, all of which have the potential to be Shiny. The event bonuses include earning 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and the addition of festive fireworks to light up the skies, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

In Tier One raids, you'll find Pikachu sporting a snowflake beanie, and Tier Three raids will feature Raticate and Wobbuffet, both in party hats, with increased chances of encountering their Shiny versions. Keep an eye out for Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases, which will offer encounters with themed Pokémon.
